Day at the Beach

My parents were in town this last week, and of course New England gave us its standard FU and rained for 4 days straight. It was finally nice and sunny (but breezy) on Sunday so we loaded up the Subie and laid siege to the beach at Plaice Cove. Little guy stayed wrapped up for most of the day but here's a shot of me and Rye while he was somewhat awake. BTW the guy loves his tummy time.

PS I brought the SUP with me and was pleasantly surprised to see waves! They end nded up being a little bigger then I expected so I rode a couple sans paddle. Good eats!

Everyone, I have a Tongue!

Today Rye finally found his tongue. He has been sticking it out at us again and again, like he is working on a Tootsie roll pop. It's been a great experience watching him start to pick up human elements.

Jen also thinks he is starting to recognize us when we speak. I was holding him earlier today and he looked right up at me as I was talking to him.

Here We Go!

So I'll have to come back and fill in the blanks on what has happened so far, but we are moving along...it's almost 6PM on Good Friday and we are at 9cm and at +2 station, so we are SOOOOO close to seeing what this little guy is going to look like! We are working with Caroline the midwife who has been on shift since 7AM this morning, and she leaves at 7PM.  She thinks we could have this baby before she leaves at 7PM. We'll see!

Jen is about 1 1/2 weeks early so this came as a surprise. I'll blog about the fun we had last night when the water broke (and I thought it was a false alarm)!

It's been a great pregnancy so far and Jen has done wonderful. We had some rough times earlier today before Dr. Partridge came in and set up the epidural. Night and day difference, Jen was able to snooze through her contractions while on the epidural. Modern medicine, it has a lot of negatives but it also has so many positives - it's no fun seeing your wife in that amount of pain.

15 Days B.B. (Before Baby)

With little Miko on the way, starting a blog to capture the experience of ushering him into the world and everything after seemed like a good idea. So he we are, 15 days Before Baby (think that deserves Capitalization). Jen is huge right now (but in the best way) and is very ready to have this child soon. I will post some pictures of the belly soon. She was having some contractions earlier this evening while we were house hunting in Stratham, they were about 10 minutes apart but only lasted for about an hour.

Lord knows we are getting close. I am starting to think about my life as Before Baby, and After Baby. Trying to get everything prepped and ready for the big day. Still got a bit to do.
